Helping every child find their own way to BLOOM

At BLOOM Occupational Therapy, we believe every child is unique, with their own strengths, interests, challenges and individual way of experiencing the world. We provide paediatric occupational therapy support from early childhood through to 18 years of age, supporting children and young people as they grow, develop and navigate the different stages of childhood, adolescence and everyday life. Our approach is centred around connection, curiosity and play, creating a safe and supportive environment where children feel understood, valued and empowered to participate in the things that matter to them.

We take the time to understand the whole child - not just the skills they may be finding difficult - by considering their sensory preferences, communication, emotions, relationships, environment and daily experiences. Through individualised, strengths-based support, we work alongside children, young people and their families to build confidence, develop practical skills, support emotional and sensory regulation, and encourage greater independence and participation at home, school and within the community.

Meet Alicia, Paediatric Occupational Therapist

I’m Alicia, the founder of BLOOM Paediatric Occupational Therapy. I’m a paediatric occupational therapist with a deep passion for supporting children and young people to build confidence, develop their skills and feel empowered to be themselves.

I’ve always been drawn to working with children, and their honesty, curiosity and incredible resilience inspire me every day. I’m passionate about creating a space where children feel safe, supported and truly understood.

I’m originally from the Gold Coast and it will always hold a special place in my heart. The ocean, laid-back lifestyle and strong sense of community shaped who I am and continue to inspire the way I work. Just like the ocean, I believe in creating calm, safe spaces where children can feel free to be themselves and grow in their own time.

Why I Started BLOOM

BLOOM was born from a desire to provide high-quality, compassionate occupational therapy in a nurturing environment, with a focus on connection, play and meaningful progress. I wanted to build a space where children and families feel comfortable, supported, and empowered from their very first session and beyond.

The BLOOM Vision

The vision for BLOOM is to create a supportive, inclusive and nurturing space where every child and young person feels seen, understood and empowered to reach their potential through connection, play and meaningful, individualised occupational therapy.
